The Problem
Pet dogs are mostly friendly, sociable animals who enjoy being around people and other dogs. However, some dogs may unfortunately become aggressive towards other dogs, and in some cases, towards people.
Possible causes of this are lack of socialisation or bad experiences which have upset them in the past.
The Solution
- The first thing you should do if your dog displays aggression is to seek professional help from a suitably qualified animal behaviour therapist. You should be able to find one through your vet.
- Don't go to standard dog training classes to deal with this problem - other dogs, or even people, could get hurt or upset.
- You can gain more control over your dog by using the Halti Headcollar, and it is always a good idea to muzzle your dog.
- If you consult an animal behaviour expert they may recommend that you try a Remote Spray Training Collar to curb your dog's aggression by distracting him at the appropriate moment.
